At the age of 13, Brian began his trade in shoe repair and leatherwork, working with his second cousin, during evenings and weekends throughout high school. Following the completion of his carpentry program at Algonquin College, he moved to Bracebridge to find a promising opportunity to grow. Brian stopped into the shop and met with the previous owner and discussed operations. Soon after, Brian took over running the Bracebridge location and purchased the shop in June of 1999.

They certainly don’t make things the way they used to, and as the market changes, Brian continues to strive for perfection. “It takes a lot of training to understand what you’re trying to do and properly operate the machinery.”
